Speaking a language and learning french

French for native English speakers is a lot different if you try to look at it from all sides. You may learn everything about the French language especially the primary rules that are used but there are times when you just can’t seem to retrieve all the grammar and language rules immediately and what just comes out of your mouth is the intuition that tells you to use the words that you are capable of saying.

Likewise, when you think about it, each time you speak, you really don’t take time to think about the general rules and the application of the language and yet you are still able to say what you want to say. You are also still able to express your opinions and feelings. This ability is due to our language intuition. It is what makes us recognize a language no matter how fast it is said or how quickly we read it.

Usually, most people would think about what they need to remember at all times so they’d be able to say what they want to say correctly. Yes, it is inevitable to learn the grammar rules especially if you are new to the language. But most likely, when you are on you’re own and you find yourself sitting outside a cafй in one of the streets of Paris, sipping latte and talking to a French friend, you’d realize that what you say in French didn’t have to count on whether you’re able to review the grammar lessons in your head or not but as long as you can converse with your French friend then that is fine.

Of course, at times, you will still have doubts to how you release a sentence verbally or clerically. It happens and this is when your grammatical knowledge becomes useful. If you think you need more help in how to be understood while speaking French, read a lot of French material.

Positive attitude - a success formula

Positive Attitude - what is it? It starts with being content and self-assured with the person that you are. A strong self-image radiates love and spirit and the people who are in your company begin to feel a similar way. Having a positive demeanor is a pivotal feature for realizing success in all aspects of your life. Your disposition destines how you approach your life and is reflected in your occupation, business ventures, sporting efforts and relationships.

A winner's attitude is essential for achieving your desires in life. People that we applaud for achieving excellence would not have accomplished their dreams by living their life with a detached disposition. The predominant ingredients for a victorious life are accepting yourself, being able to visualize your success and living with with the right attitude.

A positive attitude produces a buoyant outlook on life. You will feel happier, healthier and more energetic. Your belief in yourself and your talents will be amplified and by taking on an open and positive attitude your mind will be welcoming to the opportunities that will start to come your way. People with a negative attitude often become entirely immersed with their problems and are unable to see the opportunities that are presented to them. Once you teach your mind to automatically undertake a positive attitude your difficulties will not be as significant and you will have the ability to cope with them effortlessly.

Impulsively we are drawn towards the company of positive people. They have the ability to lift our spirits and make us feel good about life. Attitude, whether it's positive of negative, is extremely infectious - choose wisely and spend your time with positive uplifting people and your essence will imitate the same vibration. When you choose to live your life with a positive attitude your spirit will be encircled with a light energy which will magnetically draw people towards you.

Accomplishing your desires is entirely within your power, however, you have to embark on life with a positive attitude and believe that whatever you desire can, and will, be achieved - connect this with a positive attitude and you will be irrepressible. In 1903 a renowned New York engineering professor had said that it would be impossible for man to fly. Two weeks later the Wright Brothers flew the world's first powered airplane. These guys had a definite advantage - they unquestionably believed that their dream was achievable!

Don't let fear of failure hold you back from pursuing your dreams - instead espouse a positive attitude and reach for your goals with faith. We can all learn from the Wright Brothers - anything is possible if you approach your dreams with a positive attitude and believe.

Framing the big picture

The most powerful concept in persuasion is framing. When we look at the overall, big picture we can see most everything we do and say as a frame. When I suggest examples based on religion and politics, I'm not (NOT!!) endorsing one side or another. I'm simply showing where our blind spots exist, where we have holes in our arguments. if you have a belief that you fervently or fanatically believe in, you might just be blind to the other side of the issue.

When we talk about the pro-life/pro-choice debate, the other side, no matter which side you're on, is absolutely wrong. No ifs, ands, or buts. The other side is NEVER going to accept your point of view. It's just not an option. There are some that are so certain that this is not a "choice" but murder. Others believe it's not a frame at all, but an elimination of a woman's choice to have freedom over her body. There is no in between, no gray area for either side.

I have absolutely no interest in changing your deeply held beliefs, but my goal is to simply point out that all of these beliefs, ultimately, are different frames.

The ability to reframe is to tell our truth, life the way we see it. It requires us to repeat things deeply carving neuro pathways that show us what to think in any given situation, with any given group or idea, in any setting.

Without naming names, think of the major coffee chain, the one that's taking over the world. They're responsible for putting little mom and pop cafes out of business. They charge A LOT. They may even be slightly overrated. AND yet, they are fair to their employees even providing part time workers with health insurance. They buy their product from sustainable coffee growers in 'third world' (another frame) countries. They also have a delicious organic iced decaf mocha.

It's possible all of these statements are true at once. Maybe it doesn't matter a lick to you either way. But they are beliefs and as a result, they are frames.

You can do this with everything. Try health care providers, for example. They are 'miracle workers', they're caring, nurturing, overpaid, shills for big pharmaceutical and insurance companies.

Your beliefs may include none of these descriptions. At the very least, you can see that each statement is a frame. We've all had good and bad experiences with health care providers and these experiences necessarily color the way you view the profession. If your first memory was of being ill and having to be hospitalized, then that would have an enormous imprint on a fear of hospitals. At the same time, the procedure may have saved your life. This might not help adjust your frame because the negative experience of illness and pain, would be overshadowed by the positive experience of being alive. Only through multiple positive experiences would that change the neuro pathways that make you fear health care providers/hospitals.

It is my hope that in repeating the importance of frames, some of you may begin to view the whole world as a series of frames.

Could you be a compulsive overeater

Compulsive overeaters are individuals who suffer from an obsession with food and a compulsion to eat despite the resulting negative effects on their physical and emotional health and well being. They eat to satisfy an emotional hunger, whether this hunger is for love, for comfort or for a sense of control over something in their life. Compulsive overeaters may be a few pounds overweight, or over a hundred pounds overweight. The defining factor is not how much they weigh, but the underlying reasons that they eat.

Compulsive overeating is one of three major eating disorders, the other two being anorexia and bulimia. Compulsive overeaters are addicted to food in the same way that alcoholics are addicted to alcohol. It is their substance of choice. Like an alcoholic, their addiction to food as a way of self-medicating to relieve stress, loneliness, emptiness or boredom, can make their lives unmanageable and result in major health problems.

Compulsive overeating is a difficult addiction to treat, because unlike addictions involving alcohol or drugs where the addict must totally abstain from these substances in order to recover, we all have to eat in order to live. Eating in moderation in order to satisfy physical versus emotional hunger becomes the challenge. People may overeat compulsively for a variety of different reasons. Obesity can be something to hide behind, like a protective fat pad. It can be a way of hiding one’s sexuality or avoiding intimacy. This is especially true for individuals who were emotionally or sexually abused as children. Eating compulsively can also be a way of stuffing feelings of rage, depression and dissatisfaction with one’s own life

Overeating results in feelings of guilt and shame, and often self-hatred. Overweight individuals are frequently the but of negative stereotypes and are often labeled as dumb, inefficient or lazy, which further damages their self-esteem. Their activities can be severely restricted. It can become difficult to participate in sports, or even to get up from a chair. Obese individuals suffer from job discrimination. They are ostracized by society and criticized by loved one’s, family and friends.

Psychotherapy (often in combination with a 12 Step Program such as Overeaters Anonymous) provides a safe, nonjudgmental environment that can help individuals in their recovery from compulsive overeating. Getting to the root causes by working through underlying emotional issues, along with helping individuals change their relationship with food and their bodies, can lead to recovery.

Doctors doing hypnotherapy

In my opinion, doctors do not necessarily make the best hypnotherapists. Their credentials or reputation as physicians have nothing to do with their rating as hypnotherapists. In my opinion, those who are successful at hypnotherapy, it really has little to do with their position as a doctor.

Like any other profession, as experts, we specialize, and we cultivate and develop our expertise in a given area. The same is true of doctors and other professionals in whatever specialty, be it psychology, family medicine, or any other practice.

There is certainly the potential for crossover, and medical practitioners have traditionally used hypnosis as part of their treatment, but only to varying degrees of success. Typically, as a professional or specialist in any given area, you will achieve more success in your area of specialty.

If I had started out as a medical physician, a PhD, I doubt that I would have the same success at hypnotherapy as I do have, and have had for so many years, as it wouldn’t be my main or primary area of practice. I’ve nurtured and cultivated my talent, and grown as a hypnotherapist, and I’ve learned from doing. I’ve seen what works and what doesn’t work. I’ve tried different approaches, I’ve witnessed different results. And I’ve devoted my entire career to it as a specialty. It’s not just something I do in my spare time. It’s part of my life.

Most medical doctors start out with an excellent knowledge of the physical human body. Of this there is no doubt. They also have unlimited knowledge and resources at their disposal. The study is limitless and ongoing. However, much of the methodology is theory based. The real difference is that hypnotherapy is about doing, not theorizing.

I have seen doctors apply hypnotherapy as part of their practice and with great success. Their excellent knowledge of people and their conditions served as an advantage in applying hypnotherapy successfully. Although for most their primary area is not hypnotherapy, even though they venture over from time to time, they won’t really cultivate that skill as a specialty.

I know of some hypnotherapists who have obtained doctorates, and without the years of study which it should take to be able to call yourself a doctor. I don’t know why they feel the need to buy this title. Perhaps it is just an ego thing. Although I’m sure it also helps them get more clients as the general public has a high level of trust for doctors.

Don’t get me wrong. We’d be in a lot of trouble without doctors. They do wonderful work. However in hypnotherapy a PhD is irrelevant. I don’t believe being a doctor would make me a better hypnotherapist. In fact I know it wouldn’t. I’m not putting down the study of modern medicine and the qualifications of medical practitioners; I’m saying that it won’t necessarily make you a successful hypnotherapist. Hypnosis is all about the doing!

How to be supremely smart

If you’ve just graduated college, you’ve probably begun hiding away all those books and papers. Finally: freedom!! It’s time to get really rich and make a name for yourself. Career. That’s the real world, right?

Wrong.

Graduation is no excuse to stop the learning process. Failure to study is folly! The new information your constantly process determines your edge in life. School learning is static and often decades out of date.

Here’s how to grow your IQ by 50%- after college.

1) Keep a book handy.

Thousands are released every year. Pick two close to your passions every month. Update yourself. Build your skillset to make yourself interesting and indispensable to to your associates.

2) Maintain a “To-Learn” List

Break out of your comfort zone! It’s fine to develop your core competencies, but too much of one thing makes you a dull boy. The most dynamic thinkers and leaders maintain a list of new challenges to tackle: like learning a new language, to scaling Mount Everest. Having new goals will revitalize you!

3) Expand Your Base of Intellectual Friends

Hanging out with dullards is contagious. Notice how being around folks who spout nonesense forces you to

lower yourself to their level? Upgrade your companions and their skills, ideas and passions trickle down to you. More than reading books, I achieved mastery of everything from dancing tango to deliverying firey speeches through my associations

4) Modeling The Greats

Got a project? There’s no point re-inventing the wheel. Learn how the masters did it and build upon their methods. You’ll quickly and readily discover how to get things done fast. Then you can move on to even bigger fish.

5) Practice practice practice

You’ll never learn how to shoot a gun by reading a book. Drop that book after you get the theory down pat. Walk to your shooting range and squeeze a few shots! That’s when textbook learning leads to magnificent mastery.

6) Mentor Your Colleagues

I’ve built my negotiation skillset by passing on tips to those who blunder like bulls at boardrooms. Know what? Each time I did so, I actually found myself weaving ever more enticing spiels that led to more satisfying win-win outcomes! Teach others and you grow. Empowerment is mutual!

What does blushing mean

When we blush, we tend to think that we are doing so for a reason. Well, there is a reason - in fact there are many reasons. But what does blushing mean to you?

Some of us blush because we naturally feel embarrassed, some of us blush because of the reactions to the foods we eat, some of us blush because we can't help it.

So if you feel that blushing is a problem but is caused by something you eat or drink then you're in a good position to control it. All you need to do is monitor what you eat or drink.

On the other hand, if you blush from embarrassment, you can feel safe that you are among the millions of other people that blush from embarrassment too.

So what happens when you fall into the last category - when you blush because you can't help it?

Well, just like you can control what you eat and drink, you can also control what you think and when. Sure, it's a little harder and takes some regular practice...but the benefits you will see will be priceless.

Blushing when associated from emotional or psychological triggers means that your physical self is expressing a mental or psychological issue.

Blushing is commonly associated with exercise, embarrassment or other physical triggers but when we blush because of a little voice inside our heads, we must take a serious decision to do something positive to reduce blushing caused by these emotional triggers.

The first step is to identify the emotional triggers. The most common emotional triggers are low self confidence, low self esteem and high self awareness.

Ask yourself if these are things which you feel might be affecting you personally. If they are, and you can notice the link between feelings and the actual times the blushing occurs, you are in good position to start developing a new outlook towards the way you view yourself and the world around you.

Blushing can be appropriately contributed to a personal view have of ourselves. If we are asked a question, looked at, made fun of, shown up in public or we underachieve, get stressed or make a mistake we tend to blush.

Why?

Because in our subliminal mind we are telling ourselves that we are wrong, we are not as good as we would like to be, we are stupid, we deserve to be made fun of, we can't handle the situation. But these thoughts are all quite simply signs of low self esteem of rock bottom self confidence.

If you are really concerned about blushing and what it means, make sure you link the blushing incidents to the situation you are in. Where are you? What are you doing? What are you eating or drinking? What are you feeling leading up to the blushing incident?

Once you can relate the situation to the blushing, you can better understand what blushing means to you personally. After all, blushing means very different things to many different people.
